Inspired
by the aspirations of its futurist founder David Blackmer to take audio
experience to a new standard of sonic excellence, Earthworks Audio is
a major manufacturer and distributor of patented, next generation high
definition microphones, monitor speakers, and preamplifiers.
Earthworks High
Definition Microphones are developed to radically increase the ability of
conventional microphones to pick up sounds with strong emphasis on reliability
and accuracy. Earthworks claims that the sound from a high definition
microphone is like none other.

Based
in New Hampshire, USA, Earthworks relied on the
creative genius of David Blackmer. Prior to Earthworks, he invented a noise
reduction system called DBX and founded the company under the same name, dbx™.
In the later stages of his life, he continued to push the idea of time-domain
resolution, to achieve higher quality sound reproduction. He was succeeded by
his son, Eric Blackmer.
