Oktava is a Russian microphone manufacturer whose products
aren’t nearly as easy to find as Shure or Neumann microphones are. Moreover, you may also find yourself getting
frustrated when searching for an official Oktava manufacturer’s website (just
as we were). Our search only led us to a
couple of retailers that sell these rare Russian-made beauties. Moreover, we realized ordering Oktava
microphones isn’t an easy task either.

$239, promising coveted sound both onstage and in the studio, while the Oktava
MK012A Small Diaphragm Single Capsule Condenser ($198) is called “the best deal
in audio today,” as it’s often compared to Neumann and Schoeps microphones
regarding sound, not cost (the Oktava is much cheaper).
