Microphone Stands

Microphone stands are a means of mounting microphones for both recording and live sound reinforcement. They basically make it possible to position the microphone precisely where it is needed while keeping it from moving and causing any unwanted ‘extra’ sounds. For recording instruments, stands are essential. The sturdier they are the better. If you have six clumsy musicians in a room, one of them is bound to knock over a flimsy mic stand sending an expensive condenser mic crashing to its doom on the floor below. Boom stands have a movable arm that allows you to position a mic in trickier spots while straight stands are best for recording vocalists.
