AT Announces Launching of AT875 Shotgun Microphone
Audio-Technica introduced the AT875 on April 12, 2007 at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, NV. This brand new shotgun mic is particularly short (only 6.9” long and 0.89” in diameter) and phantom powered (11-52V DC). It’s perfect for ENG and field production applications where compact cameras are used, for corporate and event videographers, and field sound recordists, the company said.
The mic is built to withstand sound input levels up to 127 dB SPL, camera noises and other miscellaneous low frequency noises are less likely to be picked due to the mic’s tailored low end response. The AT875 also includes an integral XLR-3M connector, and it comes with a windscreen, protective case, mic clip and adapter bushing to fit in mic holders on DV cameras like JVC, Panasonic, Sony, and more, AT said.
The new microphone will be available for purchase this summer and is priced at $259.00. The RoHS-compliant AT8015 ($259.00) and AT8035 ($410.00) also debuted, which are upgraded models of the previous AT815b and AT835b, respectively.
