Podcasting

Podcasting is the hot internet broadcasting trend that allows anyone to be a DJ, teacher, self-help enthusiast, etc. For producing podcasts, desktop computer mics with a cardioid polar pattern work nicely and are fairly affordable, but virtually any dynamic mic will do the trick.  Some computers (all Mac desktops, for example) have decent mics built into the computer that may suffice.
