The Good

Shop4Tech.com has a really nice design. Many pictures, bold type and bright colors make it pleasurable and easy to navigate. Free shipping on most products and a cash incentive program are nice perks.

The Bad

The inventory is limited to mostly computer and media player accessories. They have a very limited selection of microphones and most are for computer, podcasting or chatting. If you need microphones for your home studio, you won’t find them here.

The Verdict

This is a really nice store for computer/media related items. They have pretty good prices but a generalized inventory. As far as computer microphones go, they do carry a couple nice ones.

When I first visited Shop4Tech.com, a few things popped out at me. First of all, they have an incentive program that offers ten dollars good for merchandise for every friend or family member that you refer and the second was the clean and colorful design. There are lots of graphics and the type is bold and big. It’s an easy interface and quite user-friendly. This is not, however, a site for audiophiles. They do sell some cool webcams with mics built in, but the whole focus is on computers and media players. They even have microphones specialized for I-chatting and Podcasting, but nothing in the way Studio, mixing or tracking. Only a select number of manufacturers are represented, but they do have Blue’s snowball which is a pretty neat USB mic, but you can get it from the apple store for about $50 less.

One of the really great things about Shop4Tech.com is that they offer free shipping on most of their products and many of them ship within 24 hours. Items may be returned within thirty days, but because of some manufacturer’s policies, they are not able to offer a refund for open items for Digital Media, iPod accessories, or missing UPC Codes and software. If an item is returned without all of its original packaging in tact, they may charge a fifteen percent restocking fee.

Shop4Tech is based out of Southern California and have been around since 1999. They are a rather customer-friendly outfit. Payment options include major credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express as well as Paypal. Hacker Safe and authorized by the Better Business Bureau, this is a cool place to buy Ipod and computer accessories.
