Stereo Microphones

WHY Stereo Microphones?

Stereo Microphones are basically two microphones built into the same enclosure. The advantage of recoding in stereo is that it produces a wider and more realistic image of the sound that is being reproduced. There are several stereo micing techniques that traditionally require a matched pair of microphones. Enclosed Stereo Microphones, however, are configured to accomplish this with just one microphone. As a result, the affect of popular mic arrays including XY and Middle Side can be achieved without setting up two separate microphones. Stereo Microphones are especially popular for video applications and field recoding.
